Black Powder

I have got my first black powder rifle a while back and have just gotten around to shooting it a couple week's back. W O W is all I can say . I know its a cheapish cva bobcat but it's .50 cal Hawkins style in black but at 100 paces I can knock the snot out of them evil soda cans. Still need to get a bullet starter and make me a poss-ables bag ( rabbit hide ) but were coming along fine . I wonder why I never did bp before it's a blast the billow of smoke .The arid smell of powder in the air . the gentle push of the gun on my shoulder . These things are good . Just me the gun and them evil 12 oz cans . The world is good and so is any day you can shoot. So peace be upon you castle and my your powder be dry and your aim true ...maddog

I'm back

I'm back been a lot happing in my life. I finely got hired on at Tyson's long haul div. I never knew how much of the market Tyson's is in .or the quality control they go through . it's been three weeks now and so far so good . Prepping has been slow due to my last job trying to starve me and other drivers out . Next on my list of projects is a hide-a-way gun safe for apartment dwellers and a storage cabinet for storing your home canning in a limited space. the prototypes should be done at the end of next month. our garden is coming along great should be a great crop. I would like to say our prepping has helped us get through these last weeks. Money has been tight so as it is with most of america. We have made some planning changes we will be buying silver to augment my retirement along with some stocks and muni's . We will also invest in local small company's and start up's risky I know but we have little faith in the current market. It will be at least another 6 weeks before we start investing and then on a limited basis. As our cash reserves are gone. SO TO ALL MY PREPPER FRIENDS LIVE WELL LIVE SMART AND KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY......MADDOG,,

Now's the Time to Order Multiplier Onions

It's been a while since I've posted here, but I wanted to give readers a heads up on an important survival gardening tip.

Southern Exposure Seeds is one of the few sources I know of that carries yellow multiplier potato onions. These are well worth having in your garden because they multiply bulbs underground. Save out the largest onions you harvest in the summer, and you'll have onions to plant for next year's crop.

I just harvested a nice bunch of small to medium-sized onions. I'll plant the largest ones in September and will give them some protection over winter so they'll come back next spring.

These yellow onions are milder than most regular varieties. My wife doesn't care for the smaller onions, but I think they're great tossed in with a crock pot of roast beef, potatoes and carrots.

Southern Exposure says to order now while they still have these onions in stock. They'll send them in time for fall planting. They're online at http://www.southernexposure.com .
