GUN,GUN,GUN,GUNS

MY POST TODAY IS ONE THAT I HOLD DEAR TO MY HART GUNS I WHAT I WOULD CONSEDER A PROPER SETUP FOR THE AVREGE PREPER WITH A LITTLE SHOPING YOU COULD BUILD YOURSELF A NICE WARBAG. SO LETS COVER A FEW BASICS
  • THERE ARE 4 BASIC GUN DESIGNS.
  • THE PISTOL (HAS 2 SUB DESIGNS REVOLVER AND SEMIAUTO)
  • THE SHOTGUN(5 SUB DESIGNS SINGLE SHOT,SEMI AUTO,PUMP ,DOUBLE BARREL AND BOLT ACTION)
  • RIFLE (6 DESIGNS SEMI AUTO,PUMP,FULL AUTO,BOLT ACTION LEVER ACTION AND SINGLE SHOT)
  • AND LAST BUT NOT LEAST IS THE BLACK POWDER (3 DESIGNS RIFLE,PISTOLAND SHOTGUN)

NOW THAT SEAMS ALOT TO TAKE IN BUT YOU MUST COVER THE BASICS FIRST.

NOW LETS COVER WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU .THERE ARE A FEW THINGS TO TAKE INTO CONCERDITION IN THIS AREA AND THEY ARE .

  • HAVE YOU EVER HELD OR SHOT A GUN?
  • HAVE YOU HAD ANY TRAINING ?
  • IN THE RELM OF GUNS SIZE DOES MATTER.
  • IS YOU SPOUSE ON BOARD WITH YOU IN LEARNING TO SHOOT?
  • WHAT CAN YOU AFORD?

I PREFER PEOPLE WHO HAVE NEVER TOUCHED A GUN AS THEY HAVE NO BAD HABBITS .WE ALL HAVE A FEW .THE ONE RULE I HAVE IS FIREARM SAFTEY.YOU HOLD A GREAT RESSONABLY IN YOUR HANDS . A GUN IS A TOOL NOT A TOY SO TREAT IT AS SUCH. AND THE LAWS OF FIREARM SAFTEY ARE-----------

  1. TREAT EVERY FIREARM AS IF IS LOADED!!!
  2. NEVER POINT A FIREARM AT YOURSELF OR OUTHERS!!!
  3. IF SOMEONE HANDS YOU A GUN REFERE TO RULE ONE!!!!!!!!!!
  4. NEVER TOUCH ANUTHERS FIREARM AS IT MIGHT BE LOADED!!!!!!!
  5. NEVER CLIMB OVER A FENCE WHILE HOLDING A FIREARM!!!!!!!!
  6. ALWAYS KEEP YOU MUZZLE IN A SAFE DIRECTION!!!
  7. KNOW YOUR WEAPON!!
  8. KEEP IT CLEAN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  9. NEVER NEVER NEVER SHOOT WHAT YOU CANT SEE!!!!!(ONLY A FOOL WOULD SHOOT AT WHAT HE/SHE CANT SEE!!)
  10. KNOW WHAT IS BEHIND YOUR TARGET !!!

ALL FIREARM ACCEDENTS RESULT FROM BREAKING ONE OF THE ABOVE RULES!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!--------------------

FOR THOSE WHO HAVE NOT OWNED A FIREARM BEFORE SEEK OUT A TRAINED INSTRUCTOR AND GET TRAINING ASK HIM IF YOU CAN RENT A FEW OF HIS GUNS TO START TO SEE WHAT SUITS YOU BEST HE WILL ALMOST ALWAYS AGREE AND WILL MEET YOU AT THE RANGE.

NOW YOU HAVE YOUR FIREARMS YOU HAVE TRAINING YOU ARE ALMOST READY. NOW GO TO THE RANGE AND SHOOT SHOOT ALOT UNTILL YOU ARE 100 PERCENT CONFADENT IN YOURSELF AND YOUR FIREARM.YOU ARE NOW READY TO DEFEND YOURSELF.SO BE SAFE AND KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY---MADDOG

Good post except for that last paragraph about practice on the shooting range. The shooting range is great to validate what you already know, but dry practice is king for learning. With dry practice, you can safely learn proper draw and/or presentation techniques, quick target acquisition, proper grip etc all without wasting a ton of money and storable ammo. Do a google search for dry practice and you will see alot of very good websites discussing this.
