THE RUGER SR-9

GOT THE SR-9 HOME THIS LAST WEEKEND AND RUN 100 RNDS THROUGH IT . WELL THIS IS MY FIRST NEW GUN AND WOW WHAT CAN I SAY GO GET ONE. OUT OF BOX GREAT GUN TRIGGER IS SMOOTH (I HAVE THE NEW TRIGGER). AS WITH ANY NEW PISTOL THERE WAS A FEW THINGS THAT GO WRONG .THE MAIN ONE WAS MORE MY FAULT THAN THE GUNS. I CLEANED THE GUN AND OVER OILED IT ALONG WITH SHOOTING DIRTY AMMO I HAD 1 NO FIRE AFTER A MAG CHANGE SLIDE DID NOT FULLY ENGAUGE THE ROUND. CALLED DAD (HE IS A MASTER GUNSMITH ) HE TOLD ME TO PULL MY HEAD OUT OF BUTT AND DONT OVER OIL GUN.SHOT GUNSCRUBBER THROUGH CHAMBER TO REMOVE EXSES OIL NO MORE PROBLEMS.
SOME OF THE REVEWS FOR THE SR-9 SAID THEY HAD EJECTION PROBLEMS WITH 115 GRAIN RNDS I HAD NO SUSH PROBLEMS ROUNDS ALL WENT 6-10 FEET TO MY RIGHT . I DID HAVE ONT STOVE PIPE BUT AFTER CLEANING TO SOLVE OVER OILING BY ME THE NEXT 80 RNDS WENT PERFECT.
THE OVER ALL FIT AND FINISH IS GOOD-PERFECT .GUN FITS BOTH ME AND MY SMALLER HANDED WIFE FINE INFACT MY 19YR OLD WHO WEIGHS 105LBS PUT A MAG THROUGH THE GUN AND GOT 12 OF THE 17 ONE THE PAPER . NOT BAD FOR A NEW GUN DURING BREAK IN.STILL HAVE 200 MORE RNDS TO GO BEFORE I MAKE ANY CHANGES TO THE GUN . I WANT TO SEND IT OFF AND HAVE THE MAG RELEASE WORKED OVER(IT'S A LITTLE STIFF) BUT THAT IS THE ONLY THING I SEE NEEDS IMPROVEMENT.
IN CLOSEING I WOULD RECOMEND THIS PISTOL TO ALL MY FRIENDS IN FACT I LIKE THIS GUN SO MUCH MY WIFE IS GOING DOWN ON TUES AND BUYING ME ONE .THE ONE W/BLACK STAINLESS SLIDE AND GREEN FRAME . HERS IS THE BLACK STAINLESS SLIDE ON BLACK FRAME .
AS ALLWAYS KEEP YOUR POWDER DRY---MADDOG
